A Day in the Life of a Sheerwater Glass Sales Advisor
We’d like to introduce you to George, another new addition to the Sheerwater Glass team. He joined us about a month ago, working full time as a Sales Advisor in the showroom and on our bigger commercial projects. Today we caught up with George to have a chat with him about his new job and how he enjoys spending his free time.
Where were you working before Sheerwater Glass?
I was an area sales manager in Ascot, and then I worked for a landscaping firm on the tools as well as generating new business.
What made you decide you wanted a change in career and come to work for SWG?
The landscaping business was only a stop gap until I found the right sales job. I found that though when I came for my interview with Mark and Gordon!
How would you describe your job role as a Sales Advisor?
Each day is different and involves a variety of tasks. From manning the showroom, taking phone calls, organising my own diary and appointments, measuring for quotations, quoting and signing off sales.
What skills do you need to carry out your job?
Good people skills, patience, have the skills and confidence to close off deals, and be organised.

Booking appointments, quoting, following up quotes and hopefully completing some deals.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Constantly learning new things and meeting new people. This is a new job role for me so there is a lot to learn, but I’m really enjoying it!
How do you like to spend your free time?
Spending time with my family, the gym and watching sport.
What is your biggest achievement?
Being part of the first team to win the league cup, and Berks & Bucks Cup Treble (Cookham Dean)… that was 18 years ago mind!
What is your biggest dream/ambition?
To be as successful as I can be.
