What are Georgian style windows?
Georgian windows come from one of the most respected periods of architectural history. It’s a classic style of window, and even today, is extremely popular among homeowners. Georgian window systems normally follow the pattern of ‘six over six’, meaning six panes sit on another six in each window. Each pane being separated by a Georgian bar or a metal bar.

Choose Your Georgian Style: Georgian Bar or Astragal Windows
The Georgian style describes the classic gridded windowpane. Today, this can be achieved in two ways:
- With a double glazed bar window; where an internal bar is located between the glazing.
- With an astragal bar window; the bars are externally planted on one pane of glass to give the impression of individual pieces of glass being sealed together.
