The Project
Our Windlesham client had their windows replaced by another firm 5 years ago. However, the quality of the job and the workmanship were not up to scratch so they were in need of redoing.
We were recommended to them by their builder and so our client gave us a call to see if we could bring their windows up to the right standards.
For this restoration project, we replaced their windows with our exclusive slimline uPVC windows, including the bay windows on the front of the property. Rosewood was chosen for the exterior colour, so our replacements fitted in seamlessly with our client’s property.
How we helped
Before replacing our Windlesham client’s new windows, we had to remove their old ones. When doing this, however, we discovered that the original installers had not fitted any insulation between the windows and the wall. The only thing holding them in place were screws and sealant! Once the sealant began to disintegrate, the windows started to move and wind audibly made its way inside their property!
So, after fitting their new windows into place, we filled in and properly insulated all of the cavities around them. As a result, draughts will no longer be finding their way into our client’s home. Therefore, the interior of their home is now more comfortable and they no longer have to endure the annoying sounds made by the wind.
Draughty windows are also major culprits of heat loss in the home. So, by removing these draughts, more heat will be kept inside their home so less energy is wasted. As a result of this, our Windlesham client may even see a nice reduction to their energy bill.
In contrast to their original windows, our slimline windows have more slender profiles and a larger glass area. For these reasons, the external appearance of the client’s property was now more appealing. Plus, more light was able to find its way into their home, brightening it up and making it feel more spacious. To further brighten up the place, the internal part of the window frames were coloured in white.
